As a yoga enthusiast, I like to practice on a somewhat regular basis. Yoga has found a place in my space that makes me feel connected to my body and challenged with the different poses; chair, plank, downward dog. However, I’ve always found the struggle of finding a class that fits my schedule, my wallet and my liking to be exhausting.
Given that I work a regular 9-5 job, er, 7-5 most days, it’s difficult to make the housewives’ edition of a yoga class at 10:00 a.m. And, the idea of traveling 20 miles after a long day to the more eclectic neighborhoods in my city for a yoga class, does not thrill me in the least. So, when trying to figure out a way to practice my pranayama, I started tolling through YouTube. YouTube – the holy grail of information, loaded with a buried treasure of how-to videos all for the low price of free.
Yoga on YouTube ensures I will have a great practice. The variety of classes available on the Yoga with Adrian site also ensures that I will feel regenerated, rejuvenated and accomplished at the end of the class without the need for a commute.
Thanks to YouTube, the struggle to find a class at the time that works for me has vanished. Yoga with Adrian now serves as my guru. Her classes on YouTube allow me the freedom to practice yoga from my home, at my convenience. My motivation is exponential when I can click on the TV and scan over to the YouTube app. My TV remote serves as my magic wand to scroll through the assortment of classes she offers, and select one based on my mood and level of effort for a particular day.
Of course, I miss the interconnection of having a live class with the physical guidance of a guru, yet Andrian’s instruction is specific, and her communication engaging. And, practicing from the comfort of my spare-room-converted-to-a-gym, in my pajamas or torn t-shirt, makes all the difference in my world. The only excuse I have for not participating is laziness, which happens from time to time.

Namaste.
