Leadership Legacy is not bound by age or even social-economic status. It really represents a body of work at each stage of your carrier path that contributes to a solid foundation of your personal and professional growth. As a result, your leadership legacy expands with each new experience, a new bold idea or innovation that you courageously acted on that then inspired others to do the same. What I find fascinating is that people often think that they don’t make meaningful contributions only because it’s hard for them to measure the impact of their actions. More to the point, they are focusing on the end of their carrier or life as the time to leave that legacy.
Many have asked me how to create the legacy leadership that starts now and that will last beyond carrier or lifetime. I would say that legacy occurs when you create a climate of leadership through your organization and in your life. BREADTH – measures how far your reach extends! With today’s technologies accessible to almost anyone, you can have a global impact rather fast. The key is to offer a valuable solution, invention, information or service. With that, you will be amazed how your scope and scale of reach may change.
DURATION – calculates how far into the future what you build today will carry into the future! Indeed, a select number of leaders see their legacies unfold during their lifetime…but last long after they are gone. Whether it’s a company or a country (think Steve Jobs and Nelson Mandela) the work and their vision continues.

Thanks for the four enduring legacy issues. The next question is how do we start developing and promoting people who exert a leadership legacy. We need to change our reward and recruitment practices
What was the vision?
What were the obstacles?
What were the opportunities?
What were the outcomes?
Are we more strong, agile, and resilient?
