your kindness arrived
at just the perfect moment
and caught me by sweet
surprise just before I could have
tumbled into an abyss
I had not seen spreading
all around me
your concern came calling
beckoning me back from
the edge of my sadness and
like an offering of honeyed tea
quenched my thirst
for something that could soothe
my weary and worried heart
your loving presence showed up
and offered a magical balm
of comfort and caring that spread
across my being in the wake
of your tender reaching out
soothing the uncertainty and doubt
that had occupied all too much
of my narrowed attention
and there at the center
of your enveloping love
as your warmth melted away
my frozen fears and your voice
quieted my bluesy bouts of despondence
was the unimagined blessing
of peace and hope and
on their wings
the strength to carry on

Excellent sounds like they came into your life at the right time! To remind you you can get over it and carry on! You have the strength! Great poem.
I am constantly blessed by the gift of the friendships in my life. And I am always grateful.
Wow, Dennis Pitocco you’ve done it again. Perfect poem for this morning for me to read, and it was the beginning of an opportunity because I was heading out the door at 6:30 AM for a breakfast with a friend. I shared it with him immediately. And that prompted an opportunity for us to acknowledge and celebrate who we have been for each other. So, to create a ripple effect, I invite anyone who is reading this poem to call a friend and do the same.
There are no accidents, my friend – Your magical words simply come to the surface when the time is right for us all!
Hooray for magic!
