There is a dark shadow chasing me down a dark street, and I keep looking back over my shoulder to see if it will catch me. What is the dark shadow? Is it evil? And what does this dream mean?
Someone emailed me this dream question right before my Bloomer Boomer Video Podcast. It was very similar to other emails sent to me since the COVID-19 Shutdown.
So, I will address the signs and symbols in our dreams during this pandemic sweeping our world.
Why would we all be sharing the same signs and symbols in our dreams? The answer is we are connected by Universal Oneness, which is a form of Quantum Entanglement. According to Science Daily, Quantum entanglement is a Quantum mechanical phenomenon in which the quantum states of two or more objects have to be described with reference to each other, even though the individual objects may be spatially separated. (1) In other words, sharing dreams and dream symbols.
Shared dream messages are a natural part of being human and alive.
Everything dreams. The twitching and Rapid Eye Movement of sleeping Puppies, kittens, fish, and even a fetus still carried in its mother’s body and observed with Ultrasound shows the power of dreams.
How important are dreams? Why would all living creatures spend up to half their life sleeping if dreams were not necessary? And just because we do not remember them does not mean we do not have them.
But, getting back to COVID Dreams, let’s discuss why so many people experience the same dream signs and symbols.
There are aspects of being human that we all share. Having a shadow is one of them. We all have shadows. We not only see our shadows during daylight, we also have moon shadows. And, no matter where we go- there we are, “Me and my shadow.”
Shadows in our dreams can also be the Universal Shadow figure. According to Wikipedia, A number of religions, legends, and belief systems describe shadowy spiritual beings or supernatural entities, and various shadowy creatures have long been a staple of folklore and ghost stories. (2)
Dreamers often describe their shadow people as dark silhouettes with human shapes and profiles that flicker in and out of peripheral vision in the dream. For those dreamers who find their shadow figures disconcerting and feel chased by them, I offer another explanation.
What if… it is our shadow self, that part of ourselves that is always there for us. And what if, rather than chasing us our shadow self is just trying to keep up with us. Imagine how strange it would be to lose our shadow.
During these lonely times of COVID dare to speak with your shadow. Reassure it that you are not trying to lose it in your dreams, but misunderstood its meaning and purpose and now embrace it as an essential aspect of yourself.
Having our shadow can help us feel less lonely. Then let me know in the comments section if your shadow nightmare continues or shifts into a wonderful dream.
