  1. Stop talking steadily about yourself: The greatest problem that destroys trust and a possible business relationship is that people tend to talk 60 % of their conversations about themselves. Talking about the own self makes us proud and motivates us to talk further. Research has shown that when people stop talking steadily about themselves, they like each other more and they learn to develop empathy and interest. Respect and trust can easier develop.
  2. Win people over with your story: Make a great first impression with your story. The other person will be impressed or like your story.
  3. Present yourself with a great first impression: Make a handshake that matters to people. Win people with eye contact, a good grip or a slight hug. Smile.
  4. Be well-informed about the other person: Ignorance is one of the worst traits you can have. So if you have a big pitch or meeting coming up, be prepared and learn what is to learn about the other person and company. Know exactly what you want to communicate. You will be much more confident when you are prepared.
  5. Know what is going on in the world: Be up to date with the time, so that you can speak about what is going on in our world. Read business news daily, so you can speak intelligently on business matters. You should be able to discuss, debate and offer opinions across a number of different areas.
  6. Be humble and confident: Don’t demonstrate too much your authority! Be both humble and confident! Respect requires a good balance between humility and confidence. Humility will earn you respect and self-confidence is the path towards commanding it.[/message][su_spacer]

When you follow these points, you have good chances to be taken seriously and to gain respect and trust.
