How can you evaluate your own mental state? By how you think about problems and manage silence. In our society today, we tend to be constantly surrounded by noise from technology and the busy get-going culture that we live in. And when we finally have a moment of silence with our own thoughts, we go straight to our Instagram feed to keep ourselves involved and away from our problems.
The truth is, that one might learn a good deal about oneself and the state of their mental health from how you manage silence and your problems.
Get to know thyself. You have to confront your problem if you want to move on from your problem. I would go so far and claim that a problem is a friend. If you yield to a problem, then you most likely have a defeatist mindset instead of a progressive one. Instead, search for the solution to the problem by actively searching for new perspectives. When you learn to automatically do this when you have a problem, then you will be on the righteous path towards personal growth because you will now know how to deal and help with a similar problem in the future. So, create a progressive mindset and a problem-solution environment, that is, a place where you can sit in silence. As dear Einstein said, “the monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind”. When you experience silence, you get the chance to listen to your mind. Your creative mind and your focused-solutioned mind, and the problems are what keeps you alive.
