A DECADE+ OF STORYTELLING POWERED BY THE BEST WRITERS ON THE PLANET

WE DON'T DO IT ALL, BUT WE DO IT ALL "FOR GOOD"

BE PART OF THE LEGACY

TAMPA BAY • FEBRUARY 23-24 2026

This FINAL encore experience will be unlike any other. Because like everything we do, it's been "reimagined" from beginning to end. It's not a virtual or hybrid event. It's not a conference. It's not a seminar, a workshop, a meeting, or a symposium. And it's not your typical run-of-the-mill everyday event crammed with stages, keynote speeches, team-building exercises, PowerPoint presentations, and all the other conventional humdrum. Because it's up close & personal by design. Where conversation trumps presentation. And where authentic connection runs deep.

Why Do People Read?

I’ve seen quite a few posts and articles on why people write, not so many on why people read though.

I think people read for many reasons.  Reading can transport the reader.

  • You can go to places that you have never been and where you will never go.
  • You can have experiences that you could not/would not do in person.
  • You can have adventure and excitement that is foreign to your real life.
  • You can learn things that are totally new to you,
  • You can be entertained with humor and smile and laugh.
  • You can live someone else’s life (at least in part).
  • You can get doses of real, down-to-earth wisdom.
  • You can get down and dirty in the gutter of crime and evil.
  • You can have your concept of the hereafter challenged.

I read a lot, but only recently have I read a book that does all of that and more.

A book by Danny Pitocco titled “The Gumshoe Stories From the Street”.

This is a book that will change your view of gangs, domestic violence, evil, and police work, and provide a realistic look at how to fix our country’s many problems.

This book should be on everyone’s “to-read list”.

  1. I agree with your article Ken, “Reading” opens the gateway to many things, it lets the imagination wander and fills the brain with knowledge and memory. Danny has a way with words, stories and life, a walking history book up and personal.
