Why A Success Mindset Is A Powerful Tool

Set Your Mindset For Success

A success mindset is a powerful tool. Your mindset is created by your beliefs and this affects the way you view your world.  These beliefs are often the result of outside influences, such as your parents, teachers, influencers in your life at a young age, and the culture you grew up in.

Because of the way your mind has been molded, you may not naturally have a success mindset.  If this is true of you, all is not lost. Just as a gardener can create a beautiful garden from a bare unattractive piece of land, you can develop a success mindset.  You can create a mindset for success.

A success mindset is a powerful tool for motivation.

An important requirement is to know yourself. Be fully aware of your dreams, passions, and desires. Having a clear picture of your goals will create in you a fire that pushes you forward to accomplish what you set out to do. You will experience joy in doing the work, even though it may be challenging because you know that it’s taking you down the path that will ultimately lead to success. A success mindset is a powerful tool for motivation.

Mentality Can Be Re-programmed?

The beautiful thing about mindset is that it can be re-programmed or adjusted. Are there facts to support this? A world-renowned psychologist at Stanford University, Carol Dweck, explains the distinction between a Fixed Mindset and a Growth MindsetHaving a growth mindset is at the core of believing in yourself.  Despite the influences of your cultural background, taking the time to understand and develop a growth mindset will allow you to recognize that you have the capacity to add to your basic abilities so that you become self-motivated and creative, bringing joy and accomplishment to yourself and those around you.

The way we understand our intelligence and abilities deeply impacts our success.

How would you rate yourself on the following?

  • Your confidence level on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being the lowest)?
  • How often do you find yourself criticizing yourself because you forgot to do something?
  • Do you believe you’re capable of doing great things and excelling, or do you believe that others are better than you and you could “never be as good as the other person?
  • Do you ever catch yourself saying to yourself, “Who am I to think I could”?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you’re not alone.  It would be easy to say that successful people never think negative thoughts.  The reality is that most people experience negative thinking at some point. The difference is that they do not allow these thoughts to paralyze them into inactivity.  They keep going, and find help to work through these “downtimes”.

Having a success mindset means giving yourself permission to create new beliefs that will empower you to achieve the success you desire. It will take effort and have a support system that may include a good friend who understands you and is equipped to support you, a coach or mentor, books, and your own determination.

  1. Our development, the way in which we interpret the difficulties and the way to best realize our potential are the fruit of a deliberate commitment. It is a matter of modifying our form mentis from static to dynamic, that is to say that the capacities can be acquired and developed throughout our life until reaching unexpected goals.
