Once upon a time… there was a lighthouse. Standing day and night in all weather conditions, making ships happy by just being a light. But after years went by her light started to die out more and more each day.
The vessels were so used to having her, that at first, they didn’t notice it. Until one sailor became aware and shouted:
“Where is our light?”
In the darkness, the skipper of his ship tried to find the coast but it was hard at night. The sailor climbed into a smaller boat and rowed to the rock where they felt the lighthouse should be. He climbed on shore and found her silhouette in the darkness.
“Lighthouse?”, he whispered a little shy.“Why are you not shining anymore?”
The lighthouse answered gloomily: “Why is no one ever shining on me?”
The sailor looked surprised and exclaimed:
“But you ARE the light! Don’t you see? How beautiful and valuable you are? You bring us home safe!”
The lighthouse was quiet for a minute or two, surprised. She never had thought about it or seen herself that way. And slowly her light started to shine again. From the ocean, there was loud applause. All ships had gathered to see what was going on.
The Lighthouse glowed with pride and her light became brighter and brighter.
“Thank you, sailor,”, she said gratefully. “Thank you! For making me see what I truly am!”
“Thank YOU!” responded the sailor happy and blew her a kiss, right before he stepped into his boat.
We sometimes forget to see what we truly are. May we remind each other at times! ❤ Share this with anyone who sometimes seems to forget.

Aristotle said that we are what we repeatedly do. But I’m not sure what we do today is aligned with what we were meant to be. Too many distractions, too many impositions from society, too often today we are who we should be. Not who we really are.
Answering this question is difficult. However, I believe that asking ourselves this question periodically allows us to carry out more conscious actions and to live our lives as protagonists rather than extras. We have only one life available and it is worth living it coherently with who we really are and with our authentic nature. Not only that, knowing who we really are allows us to obtain better results, to be more effective in our choices, more productive. And this is because knowing each other means being aware of one’s abilities and potential, having goals, being able to achieve them and knowing how to do it, making the right decisions. In short, to know what to say yes to and what to say no to, without remorse or regret.
