I will normally write something inspiring and uplifting that brings a spirit of joy, peace, and happiness. But today, I must diverge and share my thoughts on the state of our world.
At this point in my life, I have journeyed where my discernment of what is important and what is not seems to be more refined. Having had many of life’s trials and tribulations, coming through to the other side stronger, I know it is not easy for others to do the same. With the growth of social media and our minds being malleable to the influence of others, the last few years have created a dangerous path.
Within the grips of fear, stress, and the unknown, most are not prepared to deal with the strains of staying centered and grounded. It seems many have lost the ability to think for themselves, allowing others to make decisions for them, many of which are life-altering.
The pressures to fit in, to agree, to defend, and most of all to ignore what is within us intuitively is causing damage to the physical, the psyche, and a sense of well-being.
Life has always had those who will use manipulation to control, and I am not being specific to politics. This is about personal empowerment within daily living, in all areas of life.
Watching the unfolding of events and my own personal experiences with others has proven to me the fragility humanity is facing. I told my husband that people are so distressed these days and believe the suicide rate will be increasing. Two days later, a close friend’s son did indeed take his life. This has saddened me to the core, as I feel it could have been prevented. Not so much from the family perspective, but through the responsibility of those who are purporting a negative energy globally seeping into the crevices of every corner of the world.
There has and probably always will be fractions, war, hate, anger, and so on. But my question for today is, When Will We Wake UP?
What does it really take for a radical change and shift so the world leans towards the focus being on love, unity, togetherness, peace, harmony and so much more? I do not know if there is an answer, but I do know that something must change.
If you wish to share your thoughts, please do. The only way to save those who have lost hope and find an answer to a growing struggle is to acknowledge there is an issue that is being ignored.
There is simply no denying the fact that the world is in a mess, and the U.S. is certainly no exception. Individually we can do nothing to change that. What we can do is try our best within our small circle of influence. If one is to judge by history the odds of getting brotherly love, peace, and universal tranquility is nill. I don’t agree that our leaders are clueless. I think they know exactly what they are doing and it is not in our best interest.
Ken,
Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. History does seem to repeat itself and unfortunately, we humans tend to fail to learn from both the failures and successes in order to create fewer repeats. It does seem universal brotherly love, peace and tranquility is out of reach; however, there is always hope that some day in some future it can be attained in a better way than what we have experienced in the existence of humans to date. Although I believe there is truth to your saying our leaders are clueless; perhaps it can be better stated that they seem to not care of the cause and effect. Their focus is on the “me” syndrome, thinking they are doing what is best and “right” not realizing the greater consequences. It is difficult to reason with unreasonable train of thoughts that is real for those who follow the bandwagon. As I said, not sure there is an answer and just maybe with enough people together the best chances we have for the change necessary and/or growth needed is time, effort and intention. We’ll see where the world is 6 months to a year from now….and beyond.
Eileen, I could not agree with you more. I do believe there is hope always. I know that things will get better, despite the obstacles that will be before us. (my personal opinion): God has been taken out of everything. We cannot have unity without strong faith, regardless of its name, and I for one will try to make things better in anyway I can. I see our young deteriorating before our eyes, due do the ideas of selfishness, socialistic ideas by power hungry leaders who care more about power and money than the country we live in. Every day I pray for all of the world, especially those that will continue to fight for what is good, kind and compassionate in our society. Don’t lose hope and do not be afraid. Thank you for the article.
Lynn,
You are welcome! Thank you for reading and your thoughts. Yes, faith is so important and without a connection to God (or whatever is an important source for people) hope and compassion are difficult to embrace. Every day I talk to family, friends, and strangers all of whom have the same consensus….there is a deterioration happening and not just with the young. A client informed me his friends (in their late 50’s + are at a point they just want to give up). We are in a bigger crisis than imaginable and those in power are clueless as to the cause and effect of their actions, with little to no regard to the impact on the greater community/world. Only time will tell of how we climb out of this rabbit hole and as you, I will be doing all I can to be a positive force. Keep prayers going and see a transformation that helps us all rise to a higher level mind/body/spirit.
