I had a meeting with Truth last night. He visited me by surprise. The stars were shining bright as Jupiter winked at me in the silence of the lonely air. Truth kissed my cheek as lovers do. It was his way to bring me a message. And instantly I knew;
“I have filled in a void
that has been here all my life
with someone other than myself.”
I looked at it in silence
as I tasted a salty tear.
It was a message that felt as new
yet ages old and hidden far.
I looked at Void and thought: “Now what?” As I knew the solution was within, but not knowing yet where or what or how. I picked it up, put Void on my lap, and whispered in the dark:
“It’s time for me to stop running and face what has been here all the time.”
Then I turned my head, looked Void right in the eyes, and said:
“Hello Void, what can I do to be at your service? What is it that you need from me?”
Void looked back at me, smiled, and said: “At this moment? Nothing anymore.”
I looked puzzled at Jupiter as if I hoped he’d understood what this meant. But all I got was silence. When I looked back at Void, it was gone. I smiled and tasted a salty tear of happiness.
Truth gave me a kiss on my cheek as lovers do then vanished as well into the warm embrace of the night.
My life changed completely when I finally stopped running from void, sat with it, and found that void and emptiness are the most beautiful places in the Universe. It is in this nothingness, that everything can occur, every single day, every single moment.

Yes, Eyra. I’ve found that place, too. In my book, I call it “Getting Comfortable with Empty” … how we find Truth & everything else meaningful to fill up our lives. Thank you.
Thank you Eyra. I always said sometimes we need to step into the void and trust that we will land on solid ground. Strong Ink!
Truth exists. Love. Thanks for sharing your elegant poetry!

Thank you so much for your kind words Cynthia !
Thank you Joanna for your beautiful reflection. You are right, there is no actual running away from it, as we are all part of the oneness. The void and me are one.
Amen! There is no real running from that void. It’ll always catch up. But taking a hold of it and inviting it in, makes it no longer something to run from, but run with. Thank you for this beautiful piece of writing.
