The millennial generation is characterized as valuing informal work culture, flexibility and progressive work benefits. As they balance the struggles of career and personal lives, many say they suffer from burnout, either physically, mentally, or both. Is their work fatigue the result of their lack of personal fulfillment in their careers? To learn more about the influence of millennials’ seemingly progressive passions on their work lives, Olivet Nazarene University surveyed 2,000 of them about how much they value meaningful work. The study revealed millennials want to pursue deeper meaning in their jobs, but are often conflicted by a driving force of financial and professional success.
