Tonight, I am tired. The years, and the journeys have worn hard on me.
I sit here on this fallen tree with Buddy my dog and watch the beautiful sunset slowly giving way to the night.
The Dirt Road is long and filled with forgotten places, deeply felt memories, and stories untold. I wonder, will I have the time to write them or will they be forgotten and sit on a dusty shelf?
The stars sparkle brightly in the night sky and the dirt road feels different in the darkness.
Buddy my dog walks in the shadows, sniffing the spirits that find a home here in the forest, watching over the wayfarers that brave the night.
Sleep calls me home to dreams where I will sit in my chair by the window and read a favorite book. It is one I read often; it’s called the Book of Life.
Good night my dear friends, poets, writers, artists, and Dirt Road Storytellers.
Love those words Larry! Thank you, Loreexx
