At the most recent meeting of the She Owns It business group, the owners discussed their approaches to social media, sharing thoughts on the benefits of handling social media in-house and the pros and cons of using LinkedIn.
Julia Beardwood, who owns Beardwood & Company, said it was hard to outsource a company’s authentic voice. She explained that her clients buy her branding firm’s expertise, wisdom and knowledge. Someone outside the office cannot necessarily provide that, she said. Jennifer Blumin, who owns Skylight Group, said Ms. Beardwood had just touched on the difference between the business social media account and the personal social media account “that’s also sort of secretly a business one.”
