Letting go of expectations
Frees the soul
For the unexpected
Grace of
Kindness,
Generosity,
Compassion.
For when these
Arrive the body relaxes, the
Heart softens.
Doors open wide for releasing.
A balm of healing tenderness embraces,
Soothes, comforts.
Trained over years by the petrifying,
Uncertain,
Unpredictability of human
Hostility, rage, and violence,
A chronic emotional chaos,
Genuine, human, humane loving
Kindness consistently arrives unexpectedly,
Often quietly
Like a deer grazing, then gently looking up.
Big, brown, dark eyes gazing
With curiosity, wonder,
Offering calm presence.
You trust the
Gentleness, sensitivity, and beauty
Of the deer,
The colorful pink, yellow hues of the clouds during a
Stunning sunrise.
Tortured soul humans wildly primitive
Terrify in contrast to the deer or
A glorious black bear sitting on its
Haunches eating plants, flowers, and seeds.
Mother Earth generously offers unexpected
Grace with each colorful blossoming flower,
Growing blade of grass,
Waddling duck, honking goose,
Chattering squirrel,
Fluttering butterfly,
Buzzing
Carpenter Bee.
When a human being offers
Loving kindness,
Compassion to another human being,
This arrives as
Unexpected grace,
A close, distant cousin of
Amazing grace.
