Grandma Pfeiffer packed her cookies in fruit cake tins. She got the tins from her friend from the bakery. Where the fruit cakes were, was none of my business. There was way more good stuff in those chocolate cookies anyway. A glass of milk and those cookies always made life good.
Grandma Crowdus didn’t bake cookies. Instead, she made room for them. His eating strategy – always save room for dessert. “My stomach is like a box with just this much room,” she said extending her hands about 6 inches. “I left this much room for dessert.” Her hands now closer together.
At the age of 8 and still impassable, I never figured out how that box fit into Grandma’s stomach. I do know she always ate dessert.
