Recently, a gifted and dedicated podcaster named Asad Badruddin contacted me for an interview. It’s been a while since I’ve had this opportunity. And in the meantime, it’s become so natural, and even essential, to sit at the piano as I speak. Thankfully, Asad was open to my playing as I answered his thoughtful questions.
The resulting interview spans the decades of my life and work and the myriad insights that teaching and performing music for so many, has given me. The final few minutes are among the most touching, as I play “Amazing Grace” for Asad in dedication to a loved one who passed recently. I welcome you to listen, and extend heartfelt gratitude to Asad Badruddin for the beautiful opportunity to share so much.
