You’re Not Communicating Effectively With Your Staff

You need to communicate effectively with staff so that they are kept informed about the goings on in the company. If they feel like they are being left in the dark, then they can easily feel undervalued. And why would anyone stick around in a company where they aren’t valued? So be sure to communicate everything that is happening in the company. This way, they can’t get the wrong impression that their efforts are being taken for granted.

You Aren’t Hiring The Right Staff In The First Place

Maybe it isn’t the job they thought it would be, or maybe you thought they had more knowledge of your industry. There is a whole host of reasons why companies hire the wrong staff for the job. If this happens, you can expect your new employees to jump ship fairly quickly. So how do you make sure you only take on the appropriate candidates? You can use a recruitment management system to make your hiring process much more efficient.

You Aren’t Offering Any Perks

You can’t expect your employees to turn up to work and work solidly for ten hours a day. That is going to cause their motivation to plummet! They need perks to keep them happy throughout the working day. Think about providing them with plenty of free snacks and drinks throughout the day. Holding social events can also be very motivational for employees. It encourages them to bond with one another which is great for teamwork.

You Don’t Praise Your Employees As Often As You Should

If your employees are doing a great job, you need to let them know. They will be putting a lot of hard work and dedication into their job, and deserve to be rewarded for it. Even if it is something as small as a quick shout-out in your weekly staff newsletter. You should also give regular appraisals and give your staff bonuses and raises wherever necessary. The bonus or raise should be relative to how well your company is doing and how well the individual employee has recently performed.

If you put all these points right in your company, you will find that you aren’t given as many notices each month! And that means you won’t have to spend so much of your time with hiring new staff. Once you get a loyal set of employees who look set to stay with your business for a long time, you will soon feel the benefits. Your overall company performance will improve, and your employee satisfaction will also go through the roof!
