There are lights in the world.
They aren’t electric. They’re not the result of combustion and flame. They’re not celestial. But they are spiritual. For their time here on Earth, they’re human. And the light they radiate derives from the intense heat of pain and pressure.
Laura Gray is a light. I don’t know if she knows that. It would be all the more poetic and powerful if she didn’t. She’s a light, nonetheless.
She’s also a role model and an inspiration. One line from Laura’s story inspired me to write this prayer:
