The Truth About Mentors

Many successful people attribute part of their professional success to having a mentor. To learn more about why this is, Olivet Nazarene University recently surveyed 3,000 people about professional mentor-mentee relationships to see what they look like in 2019. 76% of Americans think it’s important to have a mentor, only 37 % have one now, and only 14% took initiative and asked for the relationship.

Rounding out a four-part series on workplace relationships, this new study looks at the data behind professional relationships, including:

1. Industries where mentors are most common
2. Gender dynamics in starting the relationships
3. Experience level of people with mentors
