The Strength in Weakness

Little things can be impactful

One locust has little effect on the harvest —millions of them can be devastating. One ant can do little —great numbers of ants build rafts, construct hills, and may be very aggressive. One fish can be the prey for a whale —a school of fish feels much safer One bird may fly —flocks of birds fly with saving of energy reaching 78%.

  • What makes the weak work together? In addition, how humans may learn from them?
  • How could businesses collect thousands of ideas that together may create strength?
  • How could many small business affiliate so that their combined efforts may create a great impact?
  • What little actions in combination may improve the culture of work, the social climate in organizations, and the engagement of employees?

Small costs little, but in combination, they may change the faith of organizations.

I seek ideas from readers on:

What are the driving forces that may synchronize little actions so that their impact may be powerful? What examples of small actions in life and in business that produced greater effects than just the sum of their adding up?

One small idea is as a ray of light alone can do little —in focused combination they may burn a forest.

  1. @Aldo Delli Paoli

what a wonderful comment yours is.

I love your positive mind. You mentioned small acts of kindness together they make huge positive differences. Collectively, they have far greater impact than their sum. I couldn’t agree more with you.

You remind me of sand grains that each grain on its own is strong, but they don’t stick together and as a whole they don’t benefit from their combination.

In contrast are clay particles. Each particle is weak, but when a great number stick together willingly they collectively become strong.

Small acts of kindness are like clayey grains. They stick together and make their impact accordingly

  2. The smallest detail is able to transport us towards the highest success or the most sensational failure, since each of them is determined by many different variables. What appear to be insignificant details are actually very important when it comes to outlining your daily goals, as well as in how we relate to those around us. Such is the case with a very simple gesture of thanks or a hug that comes at the right time, which will make us feel loved and close. This is why the small details are so powerful, because their peculiarity allows them to turn situations upside down, to overwhelm souls with positive or negative energy, to snatch smiles from the saddest faces or to trigger a cry. What is clear is that for better or for worse, the details make a difference. Moreover, the spontaneity and naturalness with which they happen make them particularly interesting, showing us the most honest aspect of life.
When the details arrive as a wave of positivity for our emotions, we can only wait for them with open arms. Let’s think of those actions that may seem very simple, but which in the eyes of those who receive them become gestures that will never be forgotten. Those details are magic because they fill the hearts of two people: who provokes them and who receives them.
I’ve learned that people can forget what you said or what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
It is said that the greatest gifts they can give us are those that arise from affection, care and love. Usually these magical details come from people who can be considered magical themselves: because they feel empathy, think of others, are in solidarity.
These things are also valid in the workplace, because they create the right and necessary climate to guarantee productivity, motivation and sharing.
