It’s time to start thinking about STEM careers more frequently. The STEM revolution began after people began to notice that more than half of U.S. patents were held by foreign people or companies. In order to keep the U.S. competitive within the global economy, an emphasis was placed on STEM education within the education system. The first graduates who went through school under these new educational directives are just now starting to enter the workforce, and there has been a 43% growth in undergraduate STEM between 2010 to 2016, and three in four undergraduates chose STEM majors in 2018.
