The above is not just a title, but a movie about child-sex trafficking; where here in the United States, it is the core of this terrible act against our children. It’s based on a true story and although there are no graphic scenes or graphic detail of what happens to these precious souls, one’s imagination will take over and leave you with enough to get the idea.
Jim Caviezel who played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ”, is the main character who works as an agent for Homeland Security. He becomes involved in finding those who are abducted, as a reason to not just find and arrest the pedophiles, but to finding and saving the children. The movie is outselling the “Indiana Jones” movie.
This is a very moving film, an introduction to the reality of what is happening today, right under our noses. It is based on a true story. Here are some statistics.
As of today, the number of children sold as slaves and counting is 613,313. Over a million children are sold as slaves every year. Many children work in dangerous conditions, are sold to those for sexual pleasure, and over 20,000 are killed every year. The number of children killed and abducted for their organs is well over 20,000 a year.
It’s a billion-dollar business, and the United States is the number one for sex trafficking; why? It’s where the money is.
I remember a while back the story of a little 3-year-old at a park in Houston, Texas, with her mother, and for a few seconds the mother took her eyes off her daughter, and she was gone. Billboards were advertising the picture of her daughter, hoping she would be found and every time I would drive by and look up at the beauty of this little girl, I cried, wondering where she was, who had her, what was happening to her.
The other side of this evil is the abduction of little ones ‘to obtain their organs for sale. Our children are not slaves. Our children are gifts from God. They do not belong to us, for they are simply on loan to the mother and father who created them. The mother and father God chose for their child.
These perverts who sit for hours to watch a sex act take place with children to satisfy their fantasies are evil, and our children need protection against such evil. When I was in Law Enforcement, and was assigned to work sex crimes against children, I did so because someone must put these perverts behind bars. But I only lasted 2 years because of the dreams I was having that kept me up most of the night. There are many who work this detail and my hat is off to them, but there are more perverts out there than staffing can provide. In some cases, those children are found and rescued, but not without the scars to last a lifetime. Then there are those who are never found.
What would you do if one of your children were taken and you never saw them again? Pray and ask God to come and end this evil. Our Lord will bring justice to those who hurt the innocent.
See the movie if possible.
Lynn, a very moving article. Thankyou for the two years you gave working to put sex traffickers/pedophiles behind bars. During my 25 years in law enforcement the only assignment I couldn’t work was Youth Division. It’s called Special Victim’s Unit now. I lasted a total of two weeks. I was told I didn’t have the “right temperament”, whatever that meant. (I knew what it meant).
This has been magnified by the child traffickers coming across the Southern Border with unaccompanied children.
Unfortunately our administration has turned a blind eye to what is going on at the border. Sex trafficker’s/pedophiles when arrested and convicted need to never see the light of day.
Thanks again for your service.
First, thank you Tom for commenting on my piece. I agree with everything you said especially the last part regarding our current administration. To think of what is happening to these little ones by sick minded people, and to know that our administration is doing nothing if very little to change this. There will come a day when they who support, engage, in this will answer to our creator! Have a good day
Thank you for this article, Lynn. My heart breaks every time I think of the atrocities committed by adults who know exactly what they are doing and have no conscience. In fact, they exploit children and advertise their abuse under the cover of education, acceptance, caregiving, mentoring, when nothing could be further from reality. I am going with a dozen other women from my prayer group to see this movie next week. Do we want to see it? No. But we realize we need to see it to be informed and learn how to help our young citizens of the future and know how and when and where to report abuse.
Thank you Jane, It is heart breaking to see what happens with our children, and yet we have all this money sent elsewhere, out of our country when we need it to help these children here in the U.S. Thank you for commenting, God Bless
Great article Nightingale.
The subject of child sex trafficking is the proverbial “Elephant in the Room” that polite company never wants to recognize nor discuss.
Gumshoe worked sex crimes against children (Special Investigations) for over five years until a heart attack took me out of the detail. Deputies would give me an awkward comment by telling me that they did not know how I worked these disgusting cases without killing the pedophiles.
Gumshoe would not always respond, but sometimes Gumshoe would tell them that incarnate evil done to innocent child victims had to be confronted no matter what the personal cost to the investigator. Gumshoe took satisfaction in validating the victims and holding the perpetrators accountable.
There is a hell that God created especially for child traffickers as well as for miscreants who support this evil directly or indirectly via child porn.
All that you wrote is exactly what society faces and how important it is to enlighten people about this evil.
Of course this has been going on for eons, but with todays technology it has flourished. As you note it is big business and where there are millions to be made, there are always those ready to do anything to get the money. Evil people are no exception to this as your statistics show. Thanks for shedding some light on this.
Thank you Ken for your comment and yes, it has been happening for eons, sadly, but hopefully with present awareness people will care enough to speak out, and government leaders will take note and do something.! At least for those leaders who don’t carry the label I mentioned in my article.
