Your attitude originates in your mind and is formed by your predominate thoughts and beliefs about yourself and life as a whole.
A postmodern-day understanding of the aforementioned concept can be facilitated by the understanding that the altitude of one’s “attitude” is a viable component in accessing the blessings that life has already bestowed upon us. While it may appear that many of the blessings resulting in our exalted happiness are missing, they, in fact, are not; many of our blessings lie before us in the unseen realm of our consciousness waiting to be actualized. The logic of this will become self-evident in chapter four. For now, suffice it to say the quintessential question is, what is the proper attitude upon which to “be” focused? Understanding the role your attitude plays in actualizing an abundance of blessings in every area of your life is the first point of order.
Anyone who has read even one of the plethora of self-help books that flood the book market knows that your attitude has much to do with the overall quality of your life, and, irrespective of whether you know it or not, the destiny of your life as well.
William James wrote, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.” This is good news! The other news is no one can alter your attitude of mind but you. In his classic book, Spiritual Economics, Eric Butterworth states, “Attitudes are forerunners of conditions.” Another way to say it would be you are always becoming cause to your own effect, or, as the master teachers from antiquity might say, “As within, so without…As above, so below…It is done unto you as you believe,” and so on.
My point is a healthy attitude about life will be self-evident in an abundance of overarching good in every other area of your life. If there appears to be a shortfall of abundance in any area of your life it would be well worth your time to examine your attitude in relationship to that specific area of your life; open your mind to the idea that there is more to know—that with the correct attitude another way to “be” abundantly fulfilled will reveal itself. It is my desire that every person is empowered to seek and find their way to the source of their own highest good—a life of complete abundance—by understanding that the altitude of their attitude will chart the glide path to their arrival.
