Is luck a fortunate event or does it have pattern? Is it purely random that luck comes a to few people only?
Until recently, the science of luck was neglected. The only research that I found is that carried out by the British researcher Richard Wiseman who demonstrated that we could boost our luck. He studied lucky people and found a repeating pattern among all of them. Major repeating factors that lucky people have are four. These have the traits to maximize opportunities, listen to hunches, expect good luck and convert bad luck to good.
Studying those four factors reveal that they are attached to our attitudes and behaviors. Positive attitudes attract luck. These lucky people listen to their intuition and expect good outcomes. “Luck” has more to do with psychology than probability. “Luck” is actually just her own positive attitude that keeps her open to new opportunities or perceiving patterns in random acts of chance”.
People with negative attitudes repel their luck because they lose the magic of observation, which could bring their luck.
Researchers who had this observation made lucky breakthroughs and the literature has plentiful examples to show this is true.
Remember that the smell of negativity is repellent to good luck.
Positivity is enhancing the chance that luck knocks on your door.
Luck comes to those people who deserve it.
If you are constantly unlucky then check your attitude and behavior. Make them positive if luck is to come your way.
Before you say I am unlucky check your attitude and behavior.
Ali,
This is such a TRUE and powerful statement right here:
“Positive attitudes attract luck.”. I have always felt ‘lucky’ (not that I have not had bad experiences. And i have always felt like i had a ‘positive’ mindset. Thank you for the reminder!!
Thank you, Carolyn for your appreciation and for highlighting a key point in the post. Yes. luck emerges, but the soil for it to grow is positive attitude.
Lucky to be corresponding with you Ali, the exchange of ideas is rewarding, Thank you.
Napolean was said to look for generals who were “lucky”, evidently because in war or times of chaos positivity and intention trumps intellectual capacity or skill.
You are my “general” of luck,Alan. I do learn from you
I keep reminding myself of you, ALan because I wish to foster my luck so that similar people to you may appear in my life
Thank you, Ali, for another thought-provoking post! I always enjoy reading what you share. As for the issue of “luck,” I, too, would agree that we should never tell ourselves something unless we want it to appear in our life. As for me, I’m incredibly lucky having you as a friend! 🙏
