Wind blowing through hillside trees
Sound surreal, magic of Fall
Raindrops splatter on ground below
River water dancing lively droplets
Pathways covered leaves and rain
Hedgerows glistening tiniest droplets
Strolling along pathway branches above
Soft sound, boots treading muddy water
Emerging woodland skies clearing
Greeting sunlight’s open door
Scent of wetnness drying on clothing
Water vapor drifts away
And so Fall truly upon us
Canopies of leaves falling down
Drifting floating to ground awaiting
Absorbing all embracing season
I like your poem, Simon. Mother Nature is amazing in all seasons. You captured the magic of Fall so beautifully.
Dear Lada,
Thank you so much for your comments. Mother Nature is amazing in all seasons where she puts on her coat of many colors for all to witness during the magic of Fall.
This is so beautiful, Simon. As you know, Fall is my favorite season and this poem captures the magic of the changing season perfectly. 🙂
Dear Carol,
Your comments mean such a lot to me. Fall is indeed the most spectacular season. And indeed my favorite too. I am so pleased you like the poem. Thank you everso.
Simon my friend, your poem is so beautiful. Fall is a time for poets, coffee and walks in the woods.
Dear Larry,
Thank you so much for your warm comments. When I do climb a local hill; St. Catherine’s, I am greeted by the true beauty of Mother Nature….. and down the hill for a double espresso rocket fuel at the Handlebar Café at the foot of the hill. Thank you.
