The Celts referred to them as Angel Callers, Fairy Balls, and Druid Balls.
Harmony balls date back to the Millennia of generations in places such as Mexico and Indonesia. The harmony ball has been celebrated in the Mayan culture for years and is from the island of Bali in Indonesia.
The earliest ones came from medieval times designed originally by ancient druids or celts. They were 2 to 3 inches in diameter made of silver and carried in a pouch over a sash or rope belt. Used in those days to relieve stress and produce relaxation before wars. Wearing them into battles. Survivors would remove them from the dead and take them back to their families. Also used by Druid Priest in their sacred ceremonies to communicate with nature. Artifacts got lost in history. But in the 20th century, a Harmony ball was discovered in an antique store and recreated in small quantities. The balls were reproduced in Indonesia and Mexico by a silversmith. Thus, the harmony balls continued the tradition of the druid balls.
Angel Callers: Is the English Culture Name. Used to call your guardian Angels. It’s believed to protect you through life and is often worn by Pregnant women to soothe the baby in the womb. It is believed that babies can hear sounds as early as 16 to 20 weeks from outside the womb. The Angel caller necklace is passed down from mother to daughter.

My favorite is the Mexican Harmony ball made with the Sterling Silver. I have one in my personal vintage jewelry collection from the 1970s and I have just discovered all the information behind it. I am wearing my Harmony necklace regularly these days and often when I go to bed to ward off bad dreams. I quite often find myself lifting it up to my ear and listening to the melody of the chime that is so sweet and endearing. I love collecting vintage jewelry and discovering the history behind it. So, if you’re a collector like me or curious, why not research that beautiful old piece you have locked away that your grandmother gave to you. Until next time happy hunting.
Your post made me think of the small gold ring sailors have been wearing in their ear for time immemorial so they in case of drowning and being washed up on a foreign shore would still be able to pay for a burial. At the time when it was believed that unless your body was buried intact, you would not be able to rise on the latter day, not becoming fodder for seagulls and wild dogs was a priority. I guess most of us would still rather not have our bodies end that way – as little use as we may have for them at that time.
Yes I think that would be dreadful. Thanks for reading my article I appreciate the support.
Thanks so much Larry for your support
