The Great Shift in Consciousness

Maybe you have heard something about individual and planetary consciousness shifting to a different vibration. Maybe you are well aware of this from personal experience and information shared from sources you consume. Maybe this is something you have no understanding of. Maybe you think the whole idea of a planetary shift in consciousness is woo-woo nonsense. For purposes of this post, it doesn’t matter. It’s happening irrespective of whether this is in your awareness or not, whether you believe it or not. What does this mean?

You can think of evolution as change occurring over time along some developmental sequence. Thus, concepts such as single-celled organisms evolving into multicellular creatures, or the solar system evolving as interstellar dust coalesced into planets, or societies developed from agronomy to industrial, to technological. These are just three examples of evolution along a developmental sequence involving life, cosmology, and humanity’s history. Individual humans develop increasing motor skills (crawl-walk-run), progressing cognitive skills (sensorimotor-pre-operational-concrete operational-formal operational)—just two of many developmental sequences that describe human growth. Plants and animals evolve. Systems evolve. Societies evolve. People evolve. Planets evolve. Consciousness evolves. This is the natural order. For our planet, the collective consciousness of the earth is represented by the noosphere. I wrote a previous article, Writing to Raise Consciousness—Meaning, Method, and Intent, in which I mention the noosphere as one of the three levels at which I strive to raise consciousness. The other two levels are individual and collective. What I have learned about my own personal evolution of consciousness is that it is an ongoing process. While I have been comfortable writing in ways to elevate consciousness at three levels, I am applying myself only partially connected to a network of other people and organizations that are also working to raise consciousness through their individual and collective efforts. Now is the time for me to connect more formally, which is why I have become a member of the Advisory Board of Planetary Citizens and a Founding Member of The Octopus Movement . So, what does this have to do with the shift in consciousness occurring on this planet? Note that this is occurring now, in our lifetimes. Much like a tipping point, we have reached a point in Earth’s evolution where consciousness is shifting to a different energetic frequency. The energy I am referring to is the energy of consciousness and this includes all the types of energy you are familiar with, plus all the types you are not. Everything is consciousness, and therefore all energy is part of consciousness. You can think of reality as organized energy. Information provides the blueprint on how to organize that energy and love provides the power. You read that correctly. Love in this context is unconditional love, not some of the other concepts that we associate with love—erotic, romantic, filial, etc. More details about this notion of the role of information and love in creating reality can be found here: The Mind and Heart of God.

A commonly used example that is helpful in understanding how a shift into a different energetic frequency is accompanied by a new ability is represented by a radio. Information is broadcast at different frequencies. When you are able to move the radio’s dial to capture the signal from a higher wavelength, you can then tune into that frequency. The energy of consciousness is broadcast at all frequencies but the vast majority of these we do not access. The reasons for this are beyond the scope of this article, but we have the capacity to capture a higher frequency of love energy than we typically do. This capacity extends to all of humanity and to the entire planet itself. We are shifting both individually and collectively. Some refer to this as a shift from 3D to 5D reality. 3D is energetically vibrating to support an interpretation of energy as separate, while 5D supports an interpretation of energy that demonstrates the unity and oneness of creation. It’s the same energy but it is interpreted differently depending on what frequency you are tuned into.

Any single individual’s resonance with source energy is affected by the predominant field energy they are interacting with. This is captured by terms such as harmony, coherence, as well as discord, and asynchrony.

Everything vibrates. Basically, we vibe at a certain frequency and are energetically interacting in a field of energy. When we are in tune with the energy around us, we are in resonance. When we are not in tune, we are energetically dissonant with the field. One of the reasons that I have chosen to get involved with Planetary Citizens and with The Octopus Movement is that I sense more harmony interacting in a collective field that feels more aligned with my individual efforts to raise consciousness. There is actually a force amplification as my resonance is amplified in a coherent field. You know what it feels like to walk into a room of angry people. There is a collective emotional energy that affects you. It’s easy to be influenced by this collective energy and you might find yourself beginning to feel angry. This applies to any energetic field you are interacting with—fear, reverence, peace, etc.—you vibrate in harmony or discord but tend to be pulled toward the predominant energetic frequency in that field. This is a simple matter of resonance. I am making an active choice in aligning myself to a collective field that is listening to the same station on the radio as I am. That can be very powerful.

Part of creation involves destruction. There is a cycle of birth, death, and renewal. Worldwide we are witnessing many old paradigms crumbling. These paradigm shifts span across multiple areas of human endeavor—education, politics, religion, economics, business, and ecology, to name a few. The old ways of doing things have taken us thus far but they no longer seem to work as well as they used to. Energetically, there is growing disharmony. This is all part of the growth cycle. What is emerging is a new earth. Powering this transformation is love. For each of us, the love doesn’t come from, it comes through. Source energy is coming through us and our planet at higher and higher energetic frequencies. We are receivers and emitters of this love.

It is exciting to witness this great shift in consciousness. The evolutionary arc is that of expanding love. After a long gestation, labor and delivery can be painful. Yet, what is being birthed, and we are experiencing, is the birth of new earth vibrating at a higher level of consciousness.

We are all embodied consciousness and love flows through us at different frequencies. Unconditional love is not selective. It does not discriminate based upon the presence or absence of some condition or characteristic. Unconditional love is nonpartisan. Efforts to pick and choose when to be loving derive from a belief system based on separation. Unconditional love is both unifying and universal. The more you love, the more you accelerate your shift in consciousness. The more you love, the more you hasten the shift in consciousness in those exposed to your energetic field. When you love more fully and deeply, you help to facilitate the entire planetary shift in consciousness.

I hope you will open yourself more fully to the transformative power of love. Let it flow through you more fully and help to augment the global shift in consciousness as we all individually and collectively evolve into a higher state of being.
