Finding an abandoned place always gifts us with unwritten stories, amazing images, and sometimes whispers from spirits left behind by those that are yet to cross over.
There are times when I am gifted words in abundance, and I can’t find enough time to write what I hold inside, yet sometimes the words can’t be released and That is when Buddy and I find stories on the lost highways. They are always there waiting for us to unleash them.
Stories are often hidden, and we find them in an abandoned barn, or the quiet of the forest where folklore and magic leave stories in a hole in a tree or an abandoned mailbox. by the roadside.
Often the pencil just sits there on the paper waiting for inspiration while the waiting is also a story, in fact, that is how this story got written. While it is true that stories often hide their words it is also true that they long to be released and will rejoice when the story gets told.
Perhaps I will sit here a while in this worn wingback chair, pick the pencil up from the paper and one day I will share what was written by this pencil and a single sheet of paper.
