In the 1997 Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii, two women fought to stay on their feet as they hobbled toward the finish line. Exhausted, the runners persevered on wobbly legs, until Sian Welch bumped into Wendy Ingraham. They both dropped to the ground. Struggling to stand, they stumbled forward, only to fall again about twenty meters from the finish line. When Ingraham began to crawl, the crowd applauded. When her competitor followed suit, they cheered louder. Ingraham crossed the finish line in fourth place, and she slumped into the outstretched arms of her supporters. Then she turned and reached out to her fallen sister. Welch lunged her body forward, stretching her weary arm toward Ingraham’s hand and across the finish line. As she completed the race in fifth place, the crowd roared their approval. This pair’s completion of the 140-mile swimming, biking, and running race has inspired many as it exemplifies the power of perseverance, compassion, and partnership “for good” …
We are proud to embrace the spirit of such a partnership “for good” as we add two more amazing entities to our expanding list of special global alliances –each amplifying the visibility of our respective writers.
We enthusiastically look forward to doing “something wonderful” with each of our new alliances, as together, we embrace the power of two ….
This is very exciting! Congratulations Dennis and to all involved! I love the example you use to drive home to the finish line the idea of always being “better together.” We indeed are.
Grateful, Char – so glad you are together with us, my friend!
Thank you Dennis. It is exciting. My husband is also an Ironman athlete and I know that scene really well. It is a great example of what we can do together! Exciting news my friend.
Always “better together” my friend – thank you!
Magnificent, interesting portrayal by Dennis Pitocco on the force of two, It is simply astounding what the force of two can do and does frequently – I might want to add an augmentation to the captivating depictions of Dennis –
The pair (2) is its essential exemplification. En route, it uncovers how matches start to talk, think, and even resemble one another; how the best ones blossom with struggle; and why a few set fire out while others persevere.
With regards to forming the way of life, two is the enchantment number, in view of the dyads behind everything as well as in light of the idea of innovative reasoning. In any event, when we’re separated from everyone else, we are as it were “working together” with a voice inside our head.
On the double natural and amazing, Powers of Two will change the manner in which we ponder development.
Grateful for your insights and your kind words, Farooq … We are always “better together” my friend…
