There are 5 basic senses, right? Touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste. They all work in helping the brain understand how to perceive the world around us. We could go into detail about the many other senses that exist, but that is not my purpose here.
I want to talk about the sense of self-worth. The opinion and belief you have about yourself. And not just for self. But of the human race. In essence, The inherent right of dignity.
A humanitarian is one who promotes the welfare of all humans. In order to be a true humanitarian to me, you must swear to the birthright of dignity and honour it above all else. We are all born the same and leave the same. Nothing prior too, or afterlife on earth makes you any less or better than any other human. To push the envelope here, I’m going to say that it is what you do here in the middle of before and after that determines your happiness in life and settles the score with your spiritual existence. If you don’t believe in the context of an afterlife….then what drives you? Just a thought. I’m working on mine here.
We all have the birthright of dignity. It is our number one job to help one another. In this, we also need to know that we need to help ourselves first. Nothing works outside if you can’t function on the inside first. Without dignity, …you are simply not living. To have no sense of value is simply zero. No quality, no love. No love, no living. To breathe without a sense of value is like living in purgatory. Just a thought I had as I write here.
When I discovered Dignity, everything changed for me.
In light of what is happening right now in the world and all across the planet, I am fiercely determined to stand on the side of dignity and fulfill my human obligation to honour it. Dignity is the birthright of humanity. It is the sense of value. Every life has value. The sense of self-worth. The sense we were never taught. The one that is most important.
The world’s encounter with COVID-19 is something we will look back on one day. It has threatened mankind’s existence like never before. It has travelled the globe and affected everyone, whether you are infected or not we are all inflicted.
The way I see it?
This is Nature in whatever form you want to call it, demanding attention. We are being forced to re-evaluate our lives. The entire world is at complete mercy. Our sheer will to survive is being tested on levels that go against our very nature as social beings. We are all now fighting the same war, an invisible enemy. Does this not define unity? The value of life has no price.
This is an excerpt from my poetic pen…‼️AFTER THIS‼️
“What we have here
On planet earth
Not ever before
With every birth
Has there been a time
But always a prayer
To all get along
All over, everywhere
If I were to whisper
And thoughts here release
In all the world now
I think I see peace
To all fight together
Like never in history
Mother Earth she delivers
Her way is a mystery
All who have prayed
And those who have wished
What will you pray for
When we conquer this?”
I find it relevant to mention as this crisis has brought us collectively together and offers us a chance to see world peace. We are being forced to see our value. To be reminded that our human needs are more important than our wants. To see that success was not where you were going, but in what you were celebrating. To see life and honour its value.
The number one job in all of humanity is to help one another and honour the right of dignity.
This is the paradigm of all time and the opportunity to become a more peaceful nation! Mother Earth is demanding our attention. She is forcing us to re-evaluate our lives. The birthright of dignity is on the table. Let’s honour this right and pay attention. To ignore the call of nature only has dire consequences if you ask me. Nature always wins in the end.
Without people? What is there? We need to take care of our people.
One day you may be in a great need of help…
Be the leader you would want to have!
Be the human you would want to know!
HONOUR THE BIRTHRIGHT OF DIGNITY!
When the future looks back upon this crisis, wouldn’t it be amazing and great if it was known as the paradigm of all time where the world changed for the better?

Thank you, Paula. I will be marinating on this: “The number one job in all of humanity is to help one another and honour the right of dignity.” for quite some time…
Thank you for reading Kimberly🙏🙏
If I were to whisper….. Powerful message Paula. Your words are like a dance of both celebration and despair.
Thank you Larry! Oh the Tango of words…great thought👍
Paula, what an excellent way to share your thoughts about dignity and how it is our birthright. This is something that is a part of us, nothing/no one can take it away. It is so important in these times of re-setting we remember what we are experiencing and follow the path forward. Leaving behind what was and taking the strength of now into our new experiences will make the difference between forging new beginnings. I believe the igniting of bringing people together is creating new perspectives, new awareness and the innate desire to take care of each other. Something that had been suppressed in many ways and now is front and full force!
Oh Eileen, “Front and full force” indeed! I’m loving that it is. Forgive the past, let go and evolve. When we are forced to chose, we take a harder look at what is important and what matters. Self value and dignity is the driving force that determines how you interact with your environment. Nature always wins, so I like that we are being reminded of our birthright of nothing else. Thank you for reading and being here! Have a wonderful Easter my lady. 🙏
Beautiful, Paula! I love the perspective you offer. Because discovering and deeply connecting with my value took a lifetime and finally landed during the last two years, I especially resonate with your message. I had learned to love myself over the years but that inner experience of worth and right to exist eluded me because of all flavors of shame including somatic, toxic, and everyday versions. Feeling safe enough to then connect with value made all the difference. Shifting out of “primitive/survival” modalities takes a focused commitment, many new practices, and often much support from gifted and compassionate individuals. Thank you so much for this essay as I believe we can create a world where the worth and dignity of every person matters-starting at birth. Healing the ruptures between parents/caregivers and babies, toddlers, children, teens would be quite a shift. Learning to heal unresolved traumas from the past, recent past, and ones that are being created right now seems to be essential.
What a rich opportunity we have to become our highest and best selves-are most essential selves in love and service to other human beings, nature, and our world-the interconnected web of life!
Oh Laura….it took me way too many years to realize I was loving all wrong… I started off ok but the situations in life I encountered damaged my sense of self worth too. If only I could have kept that a priority too. Self love was necessary. The idea of self indulgence and shame were misconstrued. Being open minded and accepting beyond what I was told was enlightening! I’m so glad you have progressed to this too and I am so happy to hear this! It’s just ok and there is no shame in investing in what is most important! You!
Thank you so much my lady and I’m so glad to know you to. I guess you! P. Happy Easter!
Self love is so relevent🙏🙏❤️❤️. Best to have found it then to never have it🙏🙏🙏
“When the future looks back upon this crisis, wouldn’t it be amazing and great if it was known as the paradigm of all time where the world changed for the better?”
Thank you for sharing this one, Paula! It is such a wonderful message that, while we have little control over so many things right now, we do have a choice as to how we come together (or not), help one another (or not), demonstrate the best of humanity (or not).
Hello Melissa, Thank you so much for being here! 😀. The choice we have (or not) are always presented and it all comes down to choice. You are right. It’s all in the choice.. I chose to use my voice here. I didn’t have too and that’s my choice 🤣🤣🤣 I’m so grateful for your presence!
Have a Easter day my dear. P
“I find it relevant to mention as this crisis has brought us collectively together …”
What is interesting is, I agree with this statement you’ve made Paula. But… Covid forced us apart too.
And, it dawned on me just now reading your piece, what could be a worse condition for a ‘social animal’ as we are called? To be distanced, and prevented from one another like caged animals. I find the whole thing so appalling. I know it will end soon and that is where my mind is.
Excellent discourse my friend!
Rightly so Laurie, as we are being challenged to the core.. we are social by nature and nature always wins to me. Being mindful of this fact is the weapon of defence here. We must fight the urge to resist temptation of the highest level.
We all have somewhere we are meant to be. As we accept the fact this is so.. we can trust the process and believe the light is all around us. What seems like foreboding circumstances sometimes is the needed incubation for soul, heart and mind to align.
When all is ready, we proceed and evolve magnificently.
This time is Mother Nature’s way of waving her parental hand….. saying “ go to your room, come out when I am ready”. We are being disciplined as her children. We can think or feel self pity, we are forced to spend this time alone….and reflect… what do we do when sent to our rooms? And do we all learn from this?
On a larger scale to me this is time for humanity to seize the moment where in actually there really is an introduction of peace and harmony… we need to enter our rooms and self discipline… We obviously were not doing this…mama Nature has her ways. I’m musing in these thoughts… and thank you for this wonderful reflection!
I really appreciate these thoughts🙏
