It is amazing to me that so many people fawn over and adore Bill and Hillary Clinton, in spite of their proven record of sleazy dealings. The Clinton cash machinery has become what many call the epitome of a legal ponzi scheme, and certainly highlights the questionable dealings of these two.
Bill has racked up over $126,000,000 in speaking fees since leaving office. The most interesting part of that however is that his speaking fees were $200,000 or less until Hillary got her pay back from Obama by being made Secretary of State. Then Bill’s fees went to double and triple the prior rate and even more disturbing is that the sources of those higher speaking fees expanded to include some very questionable sources. Among those many sources are Nigeria and Russia. One has to wonder what such sources expect to get for those huge “speaking fees” other than a twenty minute dose of Bill’s great wisdom.
It seems that in addition to the direct speaking fees, more than $2 billion has been donated and funneled through the Clinton Foundation in Canada. While that money is ostensibly meant to be for charitable works, only between 10 and 15 % of it goes for that purpose with the remainder going to relatives (including Chelsea), friends, and business associates of the Clinton’s. Again, even more disturbing are the sources of these huge sums, many being countries and companies that are not prone to either charitable works or friendly relations with the U.S.
A classic case of these fees for favors deals can be seen in the Swedish Ericsson case. The US State Department was pressuring the Swedish foreign minister to pull Ericsson into line and stop selling critical telecom equipment to repressive regimes. Then Ericsson paid Bill Clinton a $750,000 speaking fee and poof, in seven days the US State Department issued a statement that they would no longer follow Ericsson deals and the company should police itself.
Any one that thinks Hillary Clinton is going to represent the average Joe and Jane, or pull the good old boy D.C. political network into line is dreaming.
If you want to know more about the Clinton dealings, there is a documentary “Clinton Cash” and a book by Peter Schweizer. If you are considering voting for Hillary, or anyone she endorses or sponsors, you owe it to yourself and your coming generations to look deeper than the rhetoric aired by the main stream media.
Thanks, Len. Your caution is well founded and I’ll keep my head down.
Be careful, Ken, because I enjoy your wit and wisdom. Remember, they were able to get Bernie in line. 🙂
