The disruptor is rarely appreciated by the disrupted, and only lukewarmly appreciated by those who attempt to balance between disruption and status quo. The defeat of status quo is never a balancing act.
Without the courage to challenge the complacent, you will fall back into the comfort of complacency. As the new-way becomes more beneficial than the old way, the battle intensifies. Those who do not see themselves in the future’s new way or, those who lack the courage to challenge the components of the old-way will impede innovation.
The components of all deliverables include the people who deliver them. Disruptions to all deliverables will result in interruptions to people. It’s the people factor which can cause a stalling of momentum.
Innovation is a tough business, and the innovators are, in essence, destroying what was as they focus on creating what will be, and unfortunately, these innovations will impact the people wishing to remain complacent.
“Innovation may defeat industries; however; people have to choose to be defeated.”
People have the choice to remain as they are or, aspire to fight for what things could be based on what things should be.
“Status Quo is the killer of all that will be invented.”

Innovation is fantastic! One problem is that innovators are always convinced they and innovation are “right” and those who prefer status quo are “wrong.” This is not, however, the case many times.
If both sides would grab a modicum of humility and realize they (either/both sides) might not be “right” things might progress more smoothly.
Just because it’s progress doesn’t mean we should follow the leader over the cliff.
