I had to dig deep.
I had to search long.
And then I remembered
the words from a song.
‘Jesus loves me this I know.’
So I stopped to enjoy
the crackle and glow.
I stopped to enjoy
the twinkling night sky.
I made it a point
to laugh and to cry.
I stopped to enjoy
the brilliant colors of a set.
I try with all might
to wake up before the rise.
The plants, the flowers,
the animals, the sounds.
Crunching leaves as I walked
then I rode, then I hiked.
And I thanked God
that I could.
Thanksgiving is so much bigger
than dinner, but the fragrance,
the family, what a truly lovely bonus!
Larry, It is now that we must be thankful for the memories and hope that the future will reunite us with those we love far away – or even close. It’s a challenging time indeed.
Cindy, in the end it is about family and time spent together. Sadly we are are a society that can no longer gather together
