Tap Tap Tap
Those soft strains of music beckon
to remind my heart
of Christmas moments spent here or apart.
What do I remember most about the holidays
from birth to last?
Living in the moment from my cherished past.
I recall special days of love and grace.
Waking to see a baby doll face.
The ribbons and bows and antique lace.
The earthen glow about the place.
Ruby red flowers in a vase.
Fragrance and laughter too thick to erase.
Music reverberates with echoes of base.
Children’s laughter at grown-up chase.
Wonderful, magical crystal chandeliers
– oh wait!
Those are icicles dripping of tears.
Snowflakes tumble from the sky.
Peach and Apple, Pumpkin Pie.
Journey within or travel about.
Meaning runs deep – no reason, no doubt.
Castles of snow, rivers of light.
Magnificent memories from dawn until night.
When the music box winds to the
end of the rhymes,
May I still
Tap the Thoughts and Tap the Times.
Merry Christmas one and all
