Once, and not that long ago, two young lovers greeted the beauty found in each sunrise and frolicked in the sands of time together. Searching for the hidden secrets and treasures of their world; while storing away memories for another day.
Never tiring, but fueled by one another’s energy, they built a family and a world that gave them a sense of safety and security.
Talking daily with God, they thanked Him for the family and health He had given them, neither ever dreaming of it being any other way.
They watched as the sun set each evening, its beauty only adding to the warmth already felt in their hearts; having experienced love, life, and God’s mercies together.
And they stood in awe and amazement of heaven’s beauty late into the evenings; two joined figures silhouetted against the night, while the vastness of it all drew them even closer.
But then, without warning, time and life took their silent toll, and heaven called one of them home, leaving the other here, to finish their walk alone.
So now, as I lament her absence, I find peace in knowing that she’s talking to angels while I talk to God.
