Swim in Christmas Pictures

The only way I can see you
is through looking glass of time.

Raindrops turn to snowflakes
turn to ice upon the boughs.

No more Christmas letters
or cards to share with you.

Scattered dust of memories
now mixed with winter hues.

Traditions mapped a brilliant past
bringing glistening lights to mind.

Ribbons tied to bows
for no one left to find.

Mercy brings forgiveness
as my heart breaks more in two.

Clasp of necklace wanting
the ring to all as true.

If questions would have answered
all I needed to know;

My life might still be magic
with a heart complete and whole.

I will take a shot of wonder
with this holiday of cheer.

Give a glimmer backward
to when your skin was near.

Tomorrow brings me closer
to a day I cannot feel.

I used to swim in Family Pictures
now wax of time is frozen still.

My Poetry, Photography, and Journals hold treasure from grade school to high school to adult school, which I'm still attending ... just waiting for the final grade. Each layer of life reveals a new truth and with age, it becomes apparent that time is my greatest rival. My hope is to reflect with words and pictures that offer comfort, insight, and wisdom for a life well-lived with peace and tranquility in the end.
