When I was given the news
that you were gone;
I was handed a suitcase
for my life to move on.
◆
My wonderful world
suddenly disappeared.
The life I once had
vanished to the atmosphere.
◆
Simply put, I am stuck,
without bond to the cord.
I have prayed and prayed
for help from the Lord.
◆
Yet loss of you
took my joy away.
Will it ever return?
Perhaps someday.
◆
Time clock cannot
answer when
I will ever feel
like myself again.
◆
So now I live
in a suitcase of doubt.
Without you, I can’t seem
to figure life out.
◆
Traveling along
on this lonely dirt road;
perhaps in the end
I will find the right abode.
Very moving piece. Heart felt.
Thank you Eva Marie. Yes, it was written during a very difficult time in my life. The words and feelings still resonate.
indeed
Thank you for always responding so positively. You are very generous my friend.
Thank you Larry, my friend, for bringing this poem back to life. It’s funny how words get put on a shelf; forgotten for a moment. Then splash! They are back to remind of a not so distant past.
I love this my friend
