[su_dropcap style=”flat”]O[/su_dropcap]NE OF THE biggest mistakes I see people make in life and in business, is to accept the thinking “that is what everyone does”.
Stop for a moment and really think about that phrase. If you are of this mindset, ask yourself why does that matter? Why do you believe you have to be like everyone else?
• Ask yourself does “everyone” have the result you are seeking?
• Ask yourself what successful people do, say, think or take action on?
• Ask yourself what makes successful people different from the masses?
• Ask yourself why you believe you have to be like “everyone”
• Ask yourself if this is holding you back?
Think about the types of things the phrase “that is what everyone does” covers. Everyone has a car loan, everyone has a mortgage, everyone struggles to pay the bills, everyone hates their job, etc., etc. Where is the hope, the possibility, the belief that it doesn’t have to be this way if you are willing to make different choices. What if you changed the message you are giving yourself? How can I buy a car with cash, how can I pay my mortgage off quickly, how can I eliminate my debt and start creating wealth, what can I do that will fulfill me in my work. We believe the conversations we have with ourselves. If we are feeding our minds negative messages, we will never achieve the life we want to be living. When we learn to start asking better questions, it puts our minds to work to find better solutions.
I’m sure most of you can remember growing up, and hearing your mom or dad say to you “Well if everyone jumped off the bridge, would you?” There is a clear message in this that people miss. Jumping off a bridge is obviously a negative, life threatening action. If we don’t want to be a statistic, even if everyone around us is jumping off a bridge, we have to DECIDE to take a different action. Are you going to settle because everyone else does, or are you going to DECIDE to create the life you truly want?
