Years have tumbled to a hidden mass; beneath is found a mound of broken glass.
Dreams squandered now to a distant shore; rotten fruit is found from skin to core.
Laughter sinks with melting sun; bitter secrets told to no one.
I watched you edge to fame and rhyme; I sat upon the ledge of thinning dime.
Jealousy was too weak to come forward; I only wanted a chance to share my last word.
For who I am, is nothing, if you do not listen; for crystal will shatter on my final mission.
Fingers have curled to painful submission; ticket has burned from dancing admission.
I’ll look for you from the balcony; as stars blink out on history.
Goodbye shall not be, so bittersweet; you flew away and I kept to the street.
We all shall shape our destiny; Logic doesn’t mix with mystery.
I have no map for things to come; I only know I’ll melt as I watch you run.
I have no map for things to come; I only know I’ll melt as I watch you run….. touches deep within your soul. Thank you for sharing Cindy
Thank you Larry. Yes, it was quite a soulful poem indeed.
As usual, Cindy, just stunning.💖
Darlene, thank you so much! Your kind words mean a lot to me.
Cindy,
This poem is beautiful! It danced in my head and touched my heart. Indeed we have no map for things to come, but hopefully, we danced with the rising sun.
Thank you for sharing this piece with us.
Laura, your kindness and words inspire me as well. Thank you for your positive thoughtfulness!
