Wandering through the mystic winds, I heard a distant voice,
Alive within the wilderness a shout outside the noise; of course.
Tall swaying boughs reached down for me,
When a vision asked just who I sought,
Within the shadows of my past and deep within my waning thoughts.
To which I spoke in a softened tone as I feared my end was near,
I’m here I said because of you,
And all that you have made, so clear.
You see I’m lost within this world and unsure of my way,
I’ve traveled far and sought your hand to guide me through this twisted maze.
For You, I hear know each deep thought,
The places where old secrets lie,
The broken steps, on which we walk.

Beautiful Johnny! Just delightful! Thank you for sharing this
Thank you Paula, it’s a southern twist of mysticism and reflective of a city that’s steeped in history and heritage. As I told Larry, I’ve considered writing more about my love of Charleston, it’s romance and its inspiring beauty. Maybe now is the time.
It is beautiful Johnny!

Thank you Darlene. Your words inspire and stir my creative spirit
You are most welcome Johnny.💖
The poet speaks about the familiar with words that enchant us and ask us to see into the mist and shadows
Your uncanny ability to put life in your imagery took me along as I read each word, Dear Johnny. Thank you for this wonderful rendition where ’self’ is empowered to soar above the Universe, free of all worries and inhibitions.
Bharat as usual you humble me. Thank you so very much! JJ
Great poem, Johnny!
Thank you my friend. It’s the beginning of something much greater should I discover the path it is meant to take!
While you are embarking on your trail to someplace perhaps we will meet along the way to stop.and say hello as we wave goodbye one last time
