A lot of job-seekers and working people don’t think of themselves as entrepreneurs, and it gets them in trouble. We are all entrepreneurs now.
Our client Alicia spent three months talking with a firm in South America about a consulting gig. At the last minute they said “We want to make it a full-time job, a VP position.”
“Sure they do!” we said, taking Alicia’s perspective.
“That way they can pay you half as much and terminate the position when the project is done. Tell them you need an employment contract.”
Alicia told the company recruiter “I need an employment contract if you want me to work for you full-time.”
