Let’s sit and talk, shall we?
Let the day be what it was, let’s let it go.
We can frame up, somewhat, of what we’d like to tomorrow to be, but first, let’s just be.
Here.
Now.
I want to feel my feet right where they are.
Is the sun too bright?
Close your eyes, it will be gone soon.
In the silence, I’ll fill my lungs, really deeply.
Then I’ll expel all that needs to be expelled, forcefully, completely.
Clink a glass.
Smile.
Nothing is expected of us.
Nothing is needed from us.
Let me feel this moment now, and imprint it on my brain.
This is silence, this is the ocean, this – is being here.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you want… allow me this one request…
Be here now.
And let’s talk of things that need no script.
Yearnings, ache, regrets?
Sure… but let us all talk of triumphs, blessings and miracles.
And clink the glass.
Clink the glass and be here now.
Nothing else matters.
I’m looking forward to the chance to also clink a glass with you, Tom. Thank you for your musings here and elsewhere.
Very nice, Tom. 🥂
It would be lovely to feel this way for just a day: “Nothing is expected of us. / Nothing is needed from us.”
I hope during this lifetime Tom, there will be a glass-clinking moment with you!
Tom, here’s to clinking glasses with you.
I can actually picture myself sitting in that chair near the water with an empty chair near by, hoping someone will come and sit awhile.
Good, excellent even… that was the goal… to take you away. Thank you for reading it.
Thank you for your support, as always, Dennis, I so appreciate the chance to say whatever is front and center…
Tom, I really love this one… a lot! Sometimes it feels impossible just to “be” with no complaints, regrets, or sorrows. This one is a gem!
Tom, I love this. It reflects my retirement mindset.
Larry, it’s a beautiful thing, then… good for you. Thanks for chiming in.
