Come let’s journey into the winds and summer breeze,
Atop the great sequoia,
Beneath the raging seas.
❖
Let’s imagine what we may discover,
The places yet unseen,
The snows of Kilimanjaro,
The greatest Pyrenees.
❖
Close your eyes and believe in wonder,
This journey on which you travel free,
A safari through the darkest jungles,
Or the shores on far off ancient Greece.
❖
Take a train to the crystal lakes of Northern Sweden,
An island in the Balinese seas,
The sands of Indonesia,
The beaches of the Philippines.
❖
Come let’s visit the coast of Ireland,
The home of Christ,
And all that is the Middle East.
❖
The deepest darkest continent of Africa,
Australia’s massive Barrier Reef,
The windblown shores and driest deserts,
The smallest village and greatest cities.
❖
Come let’s visit our imagination into the winds and summer dreams.
❖
Open a book and come with me.
I love how this piece flows while taking you to the tips of these places and on to a new destination.
Thank you so much Valerie. It was one of those fun pieces that just came alive
You’re welcome! Those pieces are the best ones!
Ah, Johnny, you got me with this one! I’ve been reading since I was about 2 (so my mother always said), and I can’t imagine a world without books to read. Lovely poem / story!
Open a book and come with me. Indeed I will for I know you my friend will take us on an amazing Journey
Johnny – Another wonderful poem that reminds us to make the most of our short time on this old Earth. Strong ink, my friend.
