Satan is Real

In my last article, titled Conversation with Jesus, I was able to share my conversations with Jesus over time through my journaling.  Just as HE is real, so is Satan, and I‘d like to share some reality with you, (the readers), that may or may not have an impact.  First, let me say that I am not an authority on evil or Satan himself, but I am knowledgeable in my faith, constantly studying spiritual warfare; grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church, and willing to defend that faith if need be.  I am always learning.  So let’s begin…..

One of the greatest fallacies and greatest tricks that Satan has been able to pull off is convincing people that he does not exist.  I can assure you he does.  Recently, my husband and I went to see the movie “Nefarious” which means evil; this is also a demon’s name.  If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend it to all and everyone from perhaps sixteen and up. It’s not gory, there is no horror, of which many might be disappointed, and there is no foul language.  Sounds boring? Trust me it’s not.  It’s anything but.  The premises is a prisoner who is possessed, and a psychiatrist who is an atheist. The psychiatrist must determine if this man, (and whoever the guy is that plays this character, should get an academy award, he’s that good), is possessed to make the determination if he (the prisoner) should face the electric chair.

Now that I’ve said all of that, let me share some interesting tidbits on Satan himself.  First, people think God created Hell, but in fact, Hell is all the places where God is not.   Look at the schools, where God has been taken out of, and the Satanic after-school programs flourishing in some states. It is a fact that every time we sin, we rebel against God, just as the angels did who were cast out of Heaven by God, because they refused to serve God, and were angered over mankind being made in the image of God and set above the angels of heaven.

But let’s put Satan in today’s presence. Satan uses pride against us. How? Instead of manipulating us, he just presents it and then gets out of the way, while he sits back and watches us destroy ourselves.  The power, greed, me, me, attitude, has worked like a charm, not only within our schools, but even in our government. To wreak as much havoc upon each of us, through our history books, ie; Margaret Sanger for example, who wanted to destroy all babies in the womb through abortion, blacks, whites, and of course look at North Korea nowadays. Demons can tempt us through provocation.  They can plant thoughts or arrange circumstances that make it more likely we’ll be stirred to pride or anger or lust or even despair.

Satan is real, he is very much among us with his legions trying to take as many souls away from our creator as possible.  I used to have this saying on my car till it wore off:

iI you don’t like this country, leave and leave the gift of freedom behind, not take it with you., and if you don’t believe in Satan, no worries, he’s looking for another soul, as he will seep into our country little by little because God is no longer.

  1. Jesus said that hell was “prepared” for Satan and the demons (Matthew 25:41). It is a just punishment for the wicked one. Hell, or the lake of fire, will also be the destination for those who reject Christ (2 Peter 2:4–9). The good news is that people can avoid hell. God, in His infinite mercy and love, has made a way of salvation for everyone who trusts in God’s Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 36; 5:24).
As you might have heard him called, the devil, or Satan, is a real spiritual being with real power and a really devastating agenda. He is the enemy of God and, therefore, the enemy of all God’s people. He is mentioned in 7 different books of the Bible’s Old Testament. And all nine writers of the New Testament mention him. He is a real adversary that we should be aware of; in fact, 1 Peter 5:8 says, “the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” And he is more powerful than we often give him credit for being. In Ephesians 2, the Apostle Paul refers to him as the “prince of the power of the air.” He has power and authority over our current world system and significant influence over people in the world. And everything he does, along with his demonic army of fallen angels, is intended to undermine God’s good and perfect plan for humanity.
But note that Paul calls him a prince, not a king. Because there is only one King, and that is Jesus Christ, by whom and in whom all things were created. Jesus has ultimate authority and power over all creation, including the devil and all his minions. When we choose to believe in Jesus, Luke 10 shares that we receive power over all the enemy’s power.
Psalm 14:1 says in part, “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”….” It is also foolish to believe there is no devil.

  2. Well written Nightingale and you did not have to make any “spoiler alerts” when you mentioned the movie “Nefarious”. You are correct when you stated that God did not create Hell, in that Hell is the total absence of God. Additionally, God honors his gift of “free will” that He gave to all of mankind. Folks choose to go to Hell because they want to and when they consciously reject God. Satans cry of “I will not serve!” still resounds throughout the eternity of the self-damned. Vainglory coupled with foolish pride lead to a souls fall . . . What a waste!
