Reflections, Reality, Memories Vivid, Nature and the Universe

Descriptions of my experiences since childhood are as vivid and real as of  I were actually ‘there’. Sights, sounds, scents of woodland, lakes, streams, and birdsong. When recalling memories, I am transported to those moments of wonderment that often float through my sub-consciousness rising up to greet consciousness.

After decades in the recruitment business;  flying around Europe, working to sometimes challenging timescales, elements of those days often re-visit me. I have written my experiences of visiting cities in Europe, but there is an absence of Nature and all she has to offer. ‎ Typically cities. Now I write with great happiness, endeavoring to write in a manner where readers can visualize and sense the scenes described.

Enjoying memorable visits to Italy. disembarking from the plane at Milan airport, entering a warmth and atmosphere that reflects the joy of life that encapsulates the visitor. I have vivid memories of standing at the top of the plane’s steps at Milan Airport, breathing in the warm air; a smile on my face.  I am not alone in experience this feeling of expectation and wonderment regardless of the frequency of visits.

Looking forward to the taxi drive, passing the iconic Monza racecourse, ultimately arriving at Vimercate.

On a trip to Milan centre, sitting outside a café with the best double espresso (rocket fuel) on the planet.

The heavy warmth or heat, depending on arrival time,  is a key element of being transported to another level of consciousness. It is a most elevating experience. There is a distinct ‘buzz’ of energy combined with positive expectations. To meet with colleagues, interview candidates, and of course enjoy a penne arrabbiata at the hotel’s restaurant next door to the offices.

And so from city to countryside.

What is the connection with the love of the natural environment: Nature herself?

Just a few years ago, I found the inspiration and urge, to put into writing my experience of seemingly being at one with the natural environment. This voluntary opportunity provided a platform to write a quarterly article in a glossy community magazine, where my relatively brief articles entitled ‘A Walk on the Bright side’ accompanied by an appropriate photo orientated around the various seasons, stimulated my desire to write because I want to write. From this point on I had the motivation to expand upon my desire to ‘paint’ in words the visuality accompanied by sounds and scents of the natural environment, replacing the hustle and bustle of a business-centric existence, however enjoyable and motivating.

I do miss engaging with people of many countries and learning about their culture. This has to a degree been replaced by being an Exhibition Steward at Winchester Cathedral’s award-winning Kings and Scribes – Birth of a Nation Exhibition. ‎ Visitors the world over visit this iconic Cathedral and are in awe of its majesty. Jane Austin’s tomb is there too; crowds of visitors truly amazed.‎ So friendly.

Why do I write prose, essays, and articles predominately on the BizCatalyst 360° platform, The Divine Breadcrumb, and LinkedIn? Because I enjoy it and hopefully some elements will be of positive interest or use to others.

As a kid, my writing skills were essentially not very  ‎good. I’ve mentioned this in previous articles, but being moved from left-handed to right-handed does potentially cause a lot of problems. The only written comments from teachers stating that ‘I could do better’.

Why do I write? I guess out of selfish enjoyment, but hopefully there may be a line or two that provides answers, reasons or opens up a discussion.

To write, you have to want to, not have to. Inspiration is the key ‘the calling’. Grab a pen and write to your heart’s content and write from the heart

While frequently walking around the local countryside there is always something different to see. Naturally evident during seasonal changes, but sometimes there is particular clarity of observation. This week I walked along an avenue of giant trees and as described in another article, it is as if the high branches are reaching out to each other in a harmony of solidarity.  The avenue of trees has the feeling that these magnificent trees are aware of an individual walking beside them and looking above them.  In Spring they proudly present their new leaves, combining to create a masterpiece at any time of the year. And the views are spectacular being at the top of a hill.

I cannot sufficiently describe the intense inspiration gathered by rivers and the reflections of trees together with riverside grass and flowers. When there is no wind, one is greeted by an almost surreal visitation. Looking intently into the river,  not the ‎surface; deep below the surface,  it is as if another dimension is awaiting the observer.

Letting one be transported;  imagination, following the heart and with a released fantasy; a multi-dimensional Universe. For there are layers deep below the surface, but the depth is infinite. Another world. ‎ A Universe, time, space, gravity, fantasy.

Galaxies of thought and imagination.

The reflections are so clear, it is challenging to believe they are indeed upside-down, which they are to an observer. ‎ And I am in a trance-like state when the reflections are truly spectacular. They challenge reality. And promote fantasy. Letting the heart wander; no limits. Absorbing Mother Nature’s gift.

As Springtime moves toward us, the sounds, smells, colors all combine to create a majestic ‎feast of natural elements and myriad birdsong, enjoying the revitalization of their world.

Humanity has a duty to acknowledge, respect, admire and love this pristine gift of Mother nature.

Next time you are walking along a riverside, or lakeside where there are trees, release the senses to become one with Mother Nature, be guided by her wisdom and  ‎your eyes will light up and you will follow your heart.

For when released, the heart is the center of the Universe.
