Magnificent quaking aspens
Calling me back home.
Yet here I see the prairie
where cows and horses roam.
Memories swim to surface
as I think of them today;
the Rocky Mountain wonders
that have grown until today.
Please douse the wicked flames
and heal the earth now scorched.
For younger generations wait
to hike the land and see the gorge.
Protect the natural wonders
and heal our spirits too.
We’ve been through much this year
and rely on you to get us through.
Some believe, some don’t, yet I know within my heart; I wouldn’t be here writing this if I chose to live apart.
Lovely, Cindy!
