Would someone please explain to me what it is that these protesters want? Some 100,000 protesters, mostly women are making a scene in D.C. Why? What do they want, the right to abort fetuses? I think the politically correct term for the issue is the right to control their bodies or something like that. How about thinking about the potential consistencies before having sex? Immaculate conception is still pretty rare. It isn’t like there aren’t plenty of options for birth control either. Even to the day after pill, often given out free in high schools now.
Are we to believe that 100,000 women just happened to decide to march in D.C. at a given time on a given date? No one would believe that, so the obvious is that these demonstrations are being organized and led by someone. The fact that women in other countries are also protesting our election of Trump would indicate that there is a person or organization with influence worldwide that is behind this ugly scene. If that is the case, do the participants not understand that they are being manipulated?
Perhaps they want something other than abortion rights. Maybe as some have suggested they just want respect as women. Hello, would someone tell them that respect is earned, not a God (or government) given right? Respect is not a gender issue. It is an individual issue. Marching around at someone’s suggestion flashing a sign doesn’t command any respect. If anything it tends to have the opposite effect.
Maybe they just want to express their frustration at their candidate not winning. Maybe these are the same people that spoiled the young generation, giving them trophies for showing up, insisting they should always get their way, that they should never lose or be disappointed. So now we have spoiled adults and their spoiled kids to deal with?
Do you remember all the demonstrations over recent years when Obama and other democrats won elections? All those women, conservatives, Christian coalition groups and those being raped like the middle class, law enforcement, and military were marching and waving signs. No, you don’t remember that? Oh, that is right, there weren’t any demonstrations. Those that lost licked their wounds and strengthened their resolve to try again.
There is certainly much to not like about Trump. But, that was true with Obama, Bush, Clinton, and all other presidents. So, let’s just sit back and give the man a chance. He would really have to work at screwing things up to outdo Obama.
Perhaps they just want to express their frustration. Okay, the fact that you are frustrated is duly noted. Now go home and act like adults instead of like your spoiled offspring.
Carol, I haven’t been able to get any consistent answers from anyone that I’ve talked to, gender not withstanding. The people, again mostly females, demonstrating in other countries further muddy the issue. What do they have at risk with Trump as our president, or a republican senate and house?
My husband is asking the same question, then looking at me for answers. Honestly, I don’t have any. I didn’t want Trump, I didn’t want Hillary. What I did want is a safe and economically sound country. I think our chances are better now. I like to think of how far we’ve come rather than how far we have to go, and frankly, I’m not sure I want to go much farther. I feel as if I have the best of both worlds right now.
