A DECADE+ OF STORYTELLING POWERED BY THE BEST WRITERS ON THE PLANET

Prayer of an Author

May my ink flow
And never dry,
Through the deepest seas
Over mountains high;

May I write
From the depths of my heart
And the core of my mind,
May all your answers
In my text you find;

May I give it my all
And infuse it with passion,
May my writings stay with you
And never go out of fashion;

May I treat my writing
As a serious job
And uphold ethics in my work,
May I never be flippant
And from its demands shirk;

May I make money
As there are bills to pay,
There aren’t any free lunches
Why should there be
Free writers in the fray;

May my works
Bring meaning to you;
They bring you joy
Much mirth and fun
Sought-after succour
And sanity too;

May as a writer, I leave
A lasting impression,
And you pick me up
For solace and serenity
As much for entertainment
And action;

May I be able
To add to the nous,
And be counted amongst those
Who were trailblazers
Even if few;

May my books
Travel far and wide,
Over the high waters
And the toughest of tide;

May my name
Stay in your heart
And the top of your mind,
Long after I am gone for good
Among mortals, me you no longer find;

May the fame come
But never touch my novelty,
May I remain true to my craft
While slipping into the annals of history;

May I continue to write
Till my breath last,
Even when the hands shake
The eyes weaken
And the legs don’t move that fast;

May I write
Such as to leave a legacy,
While moods sway
And tastes evolve
Seasons change
And years pass
May my books stay
Always in currency;

When I prepare
To kick the bucket,
May I have added
To your reading trove
And the treasure chest;

And when I am out
Of sight and long gone,
May you remember me
In all happy times
Or when you are forlorn;

May you keep me
By your side
May my books stay shone,
For the beauty of my words
And the skill of my craft
Amidst you
I continue to be known.
