Gumshoe once read that the Devil does not have knees simply because he refused to kneel down before God. Obviously, this was a matter of damnable vainglory that lead to his fall from grace. He became the first resident and the Grand Poobah of Hell. So be it, amen!
Now folks let’s turn from the spiritual realm to our everyday physical realm here on terra firma.
We are all outcasts from Eden don’t cha know? However, not all of us (alleluia!) choose to continue to feast upon the forbidden fruit. We have the knowledge of good and evil. The age of our innocence is kaput.
Gumshoe observed throughout his many decades of policing that there are true criminally-minded recidivist misanthropes who “metaphysically speaking”, have no knees just like Beelzebub.
Shockingly true! Gasp! Damnable vainglory rears its ugly head once again.
Gumshoe noted that these beings (possibly from the shallow side of the human gene pool) just consciously refused to honor or respect any lawful authority of society let alone God. Their god was self as their knees disappeared. Rehabilitation was a myth as well as a mystery to them. An unsolvable riddle that was beyond their selfish grasp. They lived the lie from the father of lies. They were definitely predators who willingly preyed on the weak, the innocent, the young, the old, and the vulnerable. They relished it and bragged about it during their interrogations with Gumshoe.
They only felt remorse for being caught as cuffs were clicked on their wrists. Guilty as charged.
Yes, of course, Gumshoe realizes that no one is beyond redemption. There is not a saint without a past nor a sinner without a future. Evil is just the absence of good. Obi-Wan Kenobi had it right when he instructed Luke to “turn towards the light”. It’s never too late to change course and to discover your knees in order to kneel. Surrender to self.
Gumshoe thanks God for giving him knees that bend before Him alone.
Well after a bit of a writing hiatus that’s what was on Gumshoe’s mind to share with you gentle readers. In closing, always remember to love the ones who love you and even try to love the ones who don’t.
Coram Deo!
Another great article. This is the season of Lent headed towards Easter and the risen Christ. There is a song called
“Be Not Afraid”. Be not afraid I go before you always, come follow me and I will give you rest! Look it up. It is has a very inspirational message.

Thanks Thomas. I know this hymn well and it definitely is reassuring and up lifting. “It is well with my soul” my fellow Catholic.
Lovely dimension : does not have knees
Why thanks for your comment. Sometimes a personal perspective might help us to see what can be for us refugees from Eden.
Well said bro – especially liked the part about no one being beyond redemption.
Thanks bro for your response. During this Easter season we are all called to the cross where our debts have been paid.
Bending on the knees of those who dis-respect the Flag, Ole Glory is just the opposite of refusing to kneel to Glorify God. As for me and my house, we will kneel before the Lord. The article is quiet clear, thank you!
Amen Linnie. As the bumper sticker proclaims; “When you kneel to God you can stand to any man”.
Well said, Danny.
Why thank you Ken.
